Where the Mountain Breathes

Oil on canvas
Painted during golden hour in the High Country of Kosciuszko National Park, Where the Mountain Breathes reflects a suspended moment waiting for the Bogong moths to rise from beneath the alpine boulders for their nightly migration. The painting became an act of grounding and nervous system regulation when living with MS. The work reflects my relationship with painting as a way of slowing down, regulating the nervous system, and finding calm through a deeper understanding of place, rhythm, and breath.
