Our purpose

The constitution outlines our public charitable purposes as:

  • Providing assistance to people with MS and other neurological conditions.
  • Supporting research into the cause, cure, effects and treatments of MS and other neurological conditions.
  • Helping educate the public and members of Parliament about the effects of MS and other neurological conditions and advocating for those impacted.

Membership

To be a member of MS Plus, you must be over 18 years of age and meet our eligibility requirements, including paying an annual subscription fee. Members can vote and contribute to our organisation’s impact.

The board

Our board manages our policies, strategic direction and initiatives. They ensure the best possible outcomes for MS Plus and the people it serves.

We must have anywhere from 7 to 12 directors on our board. To become a director, you must meet certain eligibility criteria, including being nominated by the Nominations, Remuneration & Governance Committee or the directors.

Executive officers

Our executive team helps MS Plus achieve its goals and make an impact. It’s made up of the following roles:

  • Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
  • Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
  • Executive Manager Strategic Fundraising
  • Executive Manager People and Culture
  • Executive Manager Client Engagement and Wellbeing
  • Executive Manager Manager Consumer Directed Care
  • Company Secretary.

The CEO, company secretary and other executive officers are appointed by the Directors.
