I used a white composite shadow frame from the Essendon fields Spotlight store and purchased the dried beetle specimens from "Bughouse Entomologie" a supplier of worldwide sustainably farmed insects in Belgium. The insects were rehydrated and set to dry for 2 weeks before affixing inside the shadow frame.
Ever since childhood I was fascinated by the behaviour, variety, size and form of beetles and yearned to go out in the world on field trips in the footsteps of Darwin and Wallace, two contemporaneous 19th Century naturalists.
