Chicken wire - Plastic buttons - Spray paint - Industrial hot glue - Key and Lock - Metal hanger - Super glue - Green Felt

An artwork about my own person battles with my health and balancing life. I made this artwork into the shape of a Hen to represent me as a mother. All the colourful buttons are the love, laughter, care and support from my children, Fiance, family, friends, and community. They all bring brightness into my life in their own way.
As you can see, the Hens wings and tail are made with gaps and very little or no buttons at all. This is to show that my feet remain grounded because my family depends on me. And my on going battles with multiple sclerosis and new health issues pull me down. The hen's eyes are made quirky and large because I've had to open my eyes to a lot more. And insomina keeps me wide awake.
I added a key and button chain spot in the front of the hen. This is to represent two thing's, the ongoing treatment for multiple sclerosis and the constant blood test coming out of my body.
The handle on the back of the hen I put there because even though I'm young and vibrant. Sometimes, I need to have a helping hand and be picked up. Whether it be emotionally or physically. Because I made this artwork into a Hen, I wanted some elements to stand out like the animal, so I left the beak to look like a normal colour and the Comb and Wattle.
