Let's Eat Cake is part of an ongoing series of work, this piece explores life with Multiple Sclerosis through ceramic form. Suspended on tungsten hooks, the handmade beads move freely during firing, embodying a sense of motion and liberation so vital when the body resists. The experimental bubble glaze technique creates an unpredictable design that mirrors the neurological disruption within the brain and nervous system. It's chaotic patterns reflect moments of overwhelm and disarray, yet there is humour and resilience present. Amid instability, the work embraces a sense of indulgence and defiance - because even in chaos, we deserve to eat cake in style.
