Namadgi

Watercolour

Bushwalking has always been a way for me to breathe, recharge and shed the stresses of work and routine. When I became unwell with MS, I couldn't walk for more than 15 minutes without needing to sit down and it could take days to recover. It was devastating to think I might never be able to head out into Namadgi National Park again. Over the past two years, I have received treatment and worked with my physio and an exercise physiologist to try and increase my strength and fitness. I still have my challenges but I can get out into the bush again - and breathe the air at the top of the mountains. It fills me with joy and hope for the future and I am so incredibly grateful. I decided to paint this little watercolour after a walk last winter, so that I can see a little bit of Namadgi even on my bad days - and be inspired to keep going with my rehab.
