Parties

This is an oil painting on canvas of my younger sister and I at one of the many Christmas parties that our parents put on for us. We were very lucky my mum and Dad owned a seaside hotel on the south coast in England and all the family gathered there. We had a large family, Mum was one of ten! So they were joyful occasions for us. When I feel so ill I look at this picture and it cheers me up, although I consider myself lucky with all the support and a wonderful carer in my husband. Art and painting, particularly portraits bring me much joy and I often give portraits of grandchildren and pets as presents.
