Threads of Smokey is a crochet blanket of my first cat, a Russian blue, who came into my life before I underwent HSCT in Russia for my MS. During my recovery, he was a constant source of comfort through some of my hardest and darkest days. After losing him last year, creating this piece became a way to honour the bond we shared and to keep a part of him close. Each stitch represents memory, grief, love, and the healing that can exist alongside loss.
