I Looked at the Sky with a Teary Eye and the Sky Cried Back

Lucy Makin

2026
Acrylic on Canvas, A2 size. Original is custom framed.

This is an artwork of empathy. When one is drowning in fear, difficulties, barriers and restraints of daily life, sometimes we are met with those giving unwanted advice, normalising the issues or taking it as a competition of sympathy.
Instead at times all we need is someone to listen, understand, imagine the struggles applied to their own life and empathise with us. At times we just need "I hear you, I couldn't do that myself, so you must be such a strong person to be this persistent and I see that you feel you must, as you have no other choice".
