Papillons du jour

Adolfo Gianni

2026
I used a 3D wooden and glass shadow frame from the Essendon fields Spotlight store and purchased the dried and papered butterfly specimens from Jim Moffett at Unique Butterflies a South Australian supplier of worldwide sustainably farmed insects. The insects were rehydrated and set to dry for 2 weeks before affixing inside the shadow frame.

I wanted to highlight the fascinating diversity of colour, size and form in the scientific order of the Lepidoptera.
