Silent song

Laura Trapnell

2025
Watercolour, cold pressed cotton paper

This is a self portrait of me at a very dark time in my life. A memory I struggle to acknowledge, but I feel it's important to show the warts and all in chronic illness. We strive to break through the bounds that can all so often hold us back. But some days it's ok to just completely fall to pieces. It may take a little longer to pick those pieces up at times. There's no shame in that.
